We’ve moved! Our new office now open

“Bright”, “Modern”, “Welcoming”, these were just some of the positive comments from visitors to our new office based in the Hester’s Way Community Resource Centre.

Over the past few weeks we have been packing up and moving over to our new space and on Thursday 23 May, Cheltenham’s Mayor, Councillor Wendy Flynn, cut the ribbon and officially opened the office to the public.

More than 30 people including: our tenants; Cheltenham’s Mayor, Cllr Wendy Flynn; Cllr Steve Jordan, Leader of the Council; Stuart Hutton, Chair of CBH Board; and our partners from Hester’s Way Community Resource Centre gathered to see the formal opening of the new office. This new office replaces CBH’s Coronation Square area office and joins our other community buildings, which includes an area office at Oakley Resource Centre and a new Community Hub in St Paul’s.

Our Chief Executive, Paul Stephenson said: “We’re delighted to open this office in the heart of one of the biggest neighbourhoods we manage. The Centre is ideally placed for us to provide our tenants and leaseholders with easy, convenient access to our services and we are really looking forward to welcoming them along to see us”.

He added:

“We’re also looking forward to the possibility of working in partnership with the Hester’s Way Neighbourhood Project and finding ways of developing initiatives that benefit the local community.”

Commenting on CBH’s move to the Resource Centre, Kevin Devaney, Operational & Development Manager of Hester’s Way Neighbourhood Project said: “We are absolutely delighted that Cheltenham Borough Homes have set up their new area offices at the Hester’s Way Community Resource Centre, and look forward to meeting their many tenants as they discover what’s on offer this side of Coronation Square.  It’s been great working with CBH staff over the last 10 months making it all happen, and heralds an important milestone in the life of the Centre with all that it has to offer local residents.  We’d like to give everyone a warm welcome and say “thank you” for choosing us.”

Also on hand to see the unveiling and enjoy a tour of the new offices were CBH Board members and members of CBH’s Tenant Scrutiny Improvement Group (TSIP).

To encourage tenants to come along and check out the new office we held a special job club  ran a special prize draw for tenants to win £100 in high street vouchers.

Notes for editors

Cheltenham Borough Homes:

  • CBH is one of the top rated ALMOs (Arms Length Management Organisations) in the country. ALMOs are not for profit companies that run social housing services for their local council
  • Currently CBH manage and maintain around 5,000 tenant and leasehold properties with high satisfaction and performance levels, when compared nationally with other housing providers
  • CBH put their customers at the heart of what they do; working with them to shape services and ensure the company focuses on local need
  • CBH deliver more than high quality core landlord services: they have an ongoing programme building new homes and regenerating communities; they support people to find work and employment; work to improve financial inclusion and develop stock to make it more energy efficient
