Dog owners will be able to visit one of the many information stands and get top advice and freebies for their pampered pooch.

The main attraction will be the fun dog show which will see owners and their four-legged friends vie for the top spot in the following categories; Junior Handler, Cutest Puppy, Best Party Trick, Loveliest Veteran, Waggiest Tail, and Best in Show

There will also be a cutest pet competition where people can bring photos of their other pets.

The canine visitors can test their speed over the fantastic agility course, a dog scurry and a hurdle run being built specially for the day, all for free.

The next Fido Fiestas will be taking place on:

29th July 2014 from 2pm – Clyde Crescent Park, Clyde Crescent, Oakley

5th August 2014 from 2pm – Springbank Park, Springbank Way, Cheltenham

12th August 2014 from 2pm – Elmfield Park, Elmfield Road, Cheltenham

Our Chief Executive, Paul Stephenson, said: “We want to invite residents to come along, enjoy these fun events and make the most of the advice on offer. An event like this is our chance to benefit the whole community by encouraging responsible dog ownership and helping people make the most out of owning their beloved pet.”

Visitors to the event will hear top tips from Cheltenham Borough Council’s dog wardens, Gloucestershire Police and the RSPCA. Free micro-chipping will also be on offer courtesy of Cheltenham Animal Shelter and Cheltenham Borough Council.

The whole event is free to enter with prizes and rosettes for the winners in the fun dog show.

Last year over 200 people attended the events with their dogs of all shapes and sizes with names varying from Artemus to Sizzle.
