Let’s KEEP LEARNING to improve your mental wellbeing…

The Five Steps to Improving your Mental Wellbeing have been scientifically proven to make people feel happier, more positive and able to get the most from their life.

Today it’s all about trying out new things, rediscovering old interests and signing up for that course you’ve always thought about but never quite joined.

So why not set yourself a challenge and develop your knowledge base to develop a confident, fun new you!

KEEP LEARNING – the third step of the day is all about discovering new things.

Throughout life we are constantly learning new new skills, whether it be parenting, new work techniques, DIY or a new hobby. Many of us understandably associate learning with our school days and our childhood and most people find that adulthood is full of time constraints and limitations.

Evidence continues to show the positive effects that learning new things can have on someone’s life. It can boost self-confidence and self-esteem and help us to connect to others.

Formal courses and classes are fantastic ways of learning new things mom_reading_to_child-300x220and meeting a variety of people too. Why not:

  • Have a go at cooking a dish that you’ve never cooked before
  • Get involved in another era by visting a gallery or a museum
  • Learn something new at work… new IT system, monthly reports etc
  • Test your DIY skills
  • Try out evening courses as they can be a great way of developing new skills such as plumbing and languages
  • Rediscover an old hobby that challenges you such as knitting, making jewellery, writing etc
