Going for gold! We receive prestigious RoSPA award

P1020888At a special award ceremony held yesterday (14 July) we were delighted to receive the RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) Gold award.

Held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, our CEO Paul Stephenson, cheered on by members of health and safety team, Caroline Allen and Steve Barthorpe, was given the honour of collecting the award.

To win the award our in-house health and safety experts had to provide evidence of our health and safety procedures, answer a series of key performance questions and produce a concise portfolio of relevant documentation.

We passed the test with flying colours and were delighted to achieve the Gold Standard after our very first attempt!

Commenting on the award our Chief Executive, Paul Stephenson, said, “This is a collective award reflecting the whole organisation. Over the last 3 years we have committed ourselves to improving and benchmarking our health, wellbeing and safety arrangements at the highest level and we felt the robust challenges set by a RoSPA application were the ones we would aim for. Health, wellbeing and safety is an integral part of our organisation and we will continue to invest in them to maintain this standard going forward.”

Our Chair of the Board, Stuart Hutton, said: “This is excellent news and well done to all those involved. Once again, it shows CBH at the top of its game.”

Winners received a framed certificate and are entitled to use the award logo on their organisation’s letterhead and website.

The RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards are internationally recognised and offer organisations the opportunity to prove their on-going commitment to raising health and safety standards

These awards are non-competitive and are based on the organisation’s individual occupational health and safety performance assessed against the judging criteria. Achievement Awards are made at the following levels: Merit, Bronze, Silver or Gold.

A big well done to all the members of staff who helped us to achieve this fantastic award and recognition.
