Our totally rad Youth Festival is captured on camera…

An out of this world display of first-class urban activities, such as rollerblading, scootering and BMX-ing took place at Pittville Park, Thursday 20th August.

This fantastic event, organised by CBH  in partnership with local organisations, turned out to be a huge success with the Cheltenham locals. The community turned out in force with over 200 people enjoying this epic festival with an urban twist.

Everyone joined forces with the UK’s top professional extreme sports show team to test their scootering and BMX skills within a series of professional workshops followed by spectacular demos. Live music was available to set the scene with top acts such as Polary, Kickin Radios and King Solomon taking to the stage. Musical talents were tested, with a variety of ages from kids to young adults and families taking part in an exciting beatboxing workshop; hosted by the Beat Box Brothers.

Inflatables and candy floss were on hand to keep the kids entertained with delicious ice creams and plenty of chilled drinks to help soak up the glorious afternoon sun. In each corner of the grounds we had a free photo booth that was donated for the event. Gloucestershire Police stopped by to provide free advice alongside a variety of other stores such as Young Gloucestershire to provide information on available youth opportunities.

Kelly Patterson, our Community Development Officer, said “this event was a fantastic opportunity to bring together a range of ages and embrace our local communities. We had so much fun watching the amazing professional stunts by Team Extreme and would like extend a huge thanks to everyone who came along and took the time to contribute to this special day. The help and support from local organisations has been astounding and their enthusiasm has contributed greatly to the success of the Youth Festival.”
