Our health & safety team go for gold…and get it!

rospa eric 2016Our health and safety team will soon be buckling under the weight of all their silverware (or gold in this case) after they picked the RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) Gold award for a second year in a row.

At a special award ceremony held today (14 July) at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, our health & safety advisor Steve Barthorpe, cheered on by members of health and safety team, Caroline Allen and Alan Turner, was given the honour of collecting the award.

To win the award our in-house health and safety experts had to provide evidence of our health and safety procedures, answer a series of key performance questions and produce a concise portfolio of relevant documentation.

Commenting on the win, our Chief Executive, Paul Stephenson said “The receiving of our Gold Award last year was the start of a journey. It is about continual review and improvement.”

Stuart Hutton, Chair of Cheltenham Borough Homes added “This is excellent news and well done to all those involved. Once again, it shows CBH at the top of its game!”

Winners received a framed certificate and are entitled to use the award logo on their organisation’s letterhead and website.

rospa gold 2016The RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards are internationally recognised and offer organisations the opportunity to prove their on-going commitment to raising health and safety standards

These awards are non-competitive and are based on the organisation’s individual occupational health and safety performance assessed against the judging criteria. Achievement Awards are made at the following levels: Merit, Bronze, Silver or Gold.

A big well done to all the members of staff who helped us to achieve this fantastic award and recognition.
