Youth Festival rocks Pittville Park

Young people in Cheltenham had a real blast as they finished their school holidays on a high at the popular youth festival which took place on Wednesday 24 August in Pittville Park.IMG_1188

This fantastic event turned out to be a huge success with the Cheltenham locals, with nearly 300 people enjoying a dizzying array of sports, arts and music.

Festival goers were entertained by a series of interactive workshops including; samba drum, graffiti and the exhilarating modern sport of Parkour and freerunning The Wilson museum also stepped in to keep all the budding artists entertained with an exciting digital art experiment to flex their creative talents.
The main attraction of the day was the fast and furious BMX-ing and scootering competition staged and judged by pro riders from Team Extreme.

Live music was also on hand to with top notch music from local music bands and music acts including;

  • Grove
  • Polary
  • Alluzeion.

Visitors were able to browse a series of information stands full of free advice from Gloucestershire Young Carers, Tesco Farm to Fork scheme, Crime Stoppers and Active Gloucestershire

The festival was organised in partnership with Studio 340, Cheltenham Borough Council, Cheltenham Trust, The Wilson and Travis Perkins who kindly donated the loan of a generator for the event. Big thanks to Sainsburys and Team Extreme for donating some fantastic prizes for the competition.
