A star is born! A knitted Angel called Angelina!

We’ve got a new star in the making! We are excited to introduce our latest knit and knatter creation known as Angelina the life sized Angel.

She’s been designed by our very own talented bunch of knitters for the GRCC ‘Knitvity’ Project at Gloucester Cathedral.

Talented volunteer Carol Gatter is the creative brains behind these projects and runs this fantastic knitted group alongside the CBH’s housing support team and Samantha Mullaney from the Brandon Trust to knit the community together. Last year the GRCC approached our crafty knitters to invite them take part in the knitivity scene at Gloucester Cathedral.  They decided to create a donkey called Derek using all the different coloured squares that they had knitted over a period of six months to represent the diversity of the group.

After the success of Derek the Donkey, they were excited to get to work on their next knitivity project and from that moment on a knitted angel called Angelina was born.

Throughout the festive period in December Angelina will be spreading her wings on display at Gloucester Cathedral. The knitivity scene is open to everyone so why not pop along and prepare to be dazzled by these fantastic knitted creations.

Derek and Angelina will also be making an appearance at the ‘Naughty Knitters’ Christmas Fayre which takes place Saturday 19th November 11am – 2pm at Wallace House, Cheltenham – everyone is warmly invited to attend.derek

Knit and Knatter is fully inclusive to everyone and takes place at Wallace House Community Hub every Thursday between the hours of 10:30am to 12:30pm and cost a small fee of £1 for refreshments.

CBH housing support team delivers these knitting sessions alongside Brandon Trust a non-profit organisation who support adults with learning difficulties and autism.
