We celebrate Equality and Diversity review success

It’s official! CBH has successfully achieved the ‘Excellent’ level of the Social Housing Equality Framework (SHEF).

The assessment which was carried out by an external peer group, over a period of three days, looked at five key areas surrounding Equality and Diversity practice within the company. The SHEF Peer Review Team met a range of internal and external stakeholders including, partners, community and voluntary organisations, residents, board members and CBH employees to gain additional information.

The feedback and the following quotes received from the peer group were extremely positive:

“CBH is about people not just buildings”
“CBH demonstrates a willingness to step out of the housing “comfort zone” and engage with partners to provide extra services for vulnerable people”
“External partners have a very positive relationship with CBH. The community and voluntary sector regard CBH highly.”
“CBH has matured as an organisation and is respected as a key partner”

“Contractors and frontline staff … go the extra mile to ensure quality and responsive services

“Community Hubs – CBH uses the hubs as a gateway for other providers to make contact with service users (charities, visual impairment initiatives). This allows greater accessibility for service users”

Paul Stephenson, Chief Executive at CBH, said: “This is a massive achievement for CBH as we work hard to promote equality and celebrate diversity in the services that we deliver. To reach this level is a real testament to the dedication and commitment that is provided by our workforce. I am immensely proud that CBH has received recognition for all the wonderful work that is carried out to drive the business forward.”
