It’s a bumper ‘Hamper Scamper Appeal’ for us!

hamper-websiteExciting times ahead as we will be sending plenty of festive cheer to the county’s most disadvantaged families this Christmas.

Throughout December our members of staff have been pitching in to help raise funds for the Cheltenham-based charity, County Community Projects (CCP) annual Hamper Scamper Appeal.

Fundraising tactics such as scrummy cake sales, charity runs, weight loss challenges and raffles packed with enthusiasm and excitement have been successful in raising the funds needed to help children and families in poverty.

On top of the generous gift and money donations from our staff, presents were also purchased from local toy shop ‘Toys to Grow;’ who knocked off an additional 30% so that more toys could be brought to support the appeal.

It was definitely a wrap, as we beat last year’s donations of 160 gifts with a grand total of 226 presents to be delivered to families in time for Christmas. Additional funds of over £700 pounds raised have been used to put together food hampers for those who are hard up.

Appeal Co-ordinator at CBH, Claire Dovey said “We are delighted to have taken part in this life changing scheme yet again this year. The support and generosity from staff and volunteers has been astounding and with their help we have been able to deliver a record number of gifts and hampers to CCP. We are proud to support the Hamper Scamper appeal as it’s a wonderful opportunity to make a difference to children and their families this Christmas.”

CCP, continue to work across the county to improve the lives of children, young people, families and vulnerable adults by preventing homelessness, strengthening families and supporting independence. Hamper Scamper is CCP’s Christmas Giving Scheme, created to support local communities and spread festive cheer to disadvantaged children, young people, families, vulnerable adults and the elderly across Gloucestershire.
