Come along & beat the drum for Black History Month!

Next week we will be drumming up some interest with not one but two exciting workshops to celebrate international Black History Month 2017!

To mark this special occasion, we will be inviting families from across Cheltenham to come along and take part in a unique African drumming and storytelling experience from renowned cultural performer Kulcha Lee.

These inspiring sessions will be taking place during half term and are a great opportunity for young people to learn more about the rich African and Caribbean culture.

Nothing quite beats the sound of African drums and workshops will be taking place:

25 October
Oakley Community Resource Centre
Clyde Crescent
GL52 5QJ
12 – 4pm

26 October
St Pauls Community Hub
St Paul’s Walk
12 – 4pm

The fun doesn’t end there as the African Community Foundation Gloucestershire will also be organising a delicious African Meal (at both events) for the local community.

Black History Month celebrates the contributions and achievements that the Black, African and Caribbean communities have made locally in Cheltenham and around the world. Held throughout October, the aim of the month is to promote knowledge of Black history and experiences and communicate the positive their contributions to British society.

This event has been organised in partnership with Cheltenham Borough Council and the organisers of Black History Month.
