Leaseholder insurance cover summary
If you are a “Right to buy” leaseholder, your property is protected by Cheltenham Borough Council’s leaseholder insurance policy.

How to report a claim
You should contact Protector Insurance as soon as possible to notify them of your claim. You will need to provide full details within 30 days of the claim, or 7 days if the claim relates to a riot or malicious damage. Details should include supporting evidence in writing.
You must notify the police as soon as possible in the event of theft or malicious damage.

For calls made out of office hours, your call will be redirect to the emergency provider, Sedgwick’s.
Complaints
If the service provided by Protector Insurance does not meet your expectations please contact them and provide the policy/claim number and insured name (Cheltenham Borough Council).

They will aim to resolve your complaint within the first few days of receipt. If this is not possible, they will keep you updated with progress and provide you with a decision as quickly as possible.
If you are unhappy with the response you may be entitled to refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)
Protector Insurance are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). You may be entitled to compensation if they are unable to meet their obligations. For further information please contact the FSCS on 020 7892 7300 or visit their website at fscs.org.uk.
Cancellation rights
This policy does not entitle you to a cooling-off period.
