I have a deep understanding of Cheltenham’s communities and a passion for helping the people that live within them. This comes from being a former senior police officer, for more than 30 years, at home and abroad in the field of policing, crime reduction, and counter terrorism. I was born in Cheltenham and attended Dunalley Primary School, and Hester’s Way Baptist Church youth club as a teenager. I ‘walked the beat’ in many parts of Cheltenham during my years in the police service and helped build stronger communities where people feel safe, more recently as Gloucestershire’s Police Crime Commissioner. I feel my unique insight and experience will support CBH take advantage of the opportunities ahead. I’m really looking forward to building positive relationships with customers, volunteers, partners and CBH colleagues who go above and beyond to help transform lives.

I am an active member of the See the Person not the Stereotype Campaign which aims to tackle the common misrepresentations and negative stereotyping of social housing tenants in the local and national media.

I met with Dominic Raab when he was the Minister for Housing, during his visit to CBH, and had the opportunity to discuss with him this high impact campaign that challenged the way the public think and tackled the stigma associated with social housing tenants.

I joined the Board in June 2018 and have been a CBH tenant on and off for the past 35 years. I believe very strongly that tenant voices should be heard and that tenants must influence the development of our neighbourhoods. My understanding of local authority housing management issues has developed during my membership of the CBH Tenant Scrutiny Improvement Panel.

As well as being a full time foster carer for my three nieces, I have been an active member of the CBH community for many years. In the past I’ve served on the Tenant Scrutiny Improvement Panel, Shaping Services and the St Paul’s Community Committee Group. I’m particularly proud of the work we have done together on the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) project. I also work as a Youth Mentor for WAM Youth, volunteer as a facilitator for restorative conferences at Restorative Gloucestershire, an Appropriate Adult with Caring for Communities and People, and as a Family Advocate for Child Protection. Joining the Board of CBH seemed like the next logical step and I’m looking forward to learning more about the business.

I originally studied medical sciences at the University of Bristol and then worked as a Retail Manager and Retail Project Manager for 12 years. Most recently I have been training to be an adult education tutor and have enjoyed working with parties of students with learning difficulties from Gloucester College. I am a very active member of the local community and have been Chair of the Monkscroft Community Action Group since 2019, which has been working in partnership with CBH to transform Monkscroft, and was recognised nationally at the TPAS Awards. I also regularly campaign for the rights of people with disabilities. In my free time I’m an artist and aspiring novelist.

Glenn was born in Cheltenham and has lived in the town for the majority of his life. He was educated at Bournside school in the 1980’s; and on leaving school worked at Lloyds Bank Rotunda branch (now The Ivy restaurant).Throughout the 1990’s he worked as an actor for numerous theatre companies.Since 2000 he has worked at The Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham.He is currently councillor for Lansdown on Cheltenham Borough Council

Richard was elected as a councillor in May 2021 representing St Mark’s ward, an area of Cheltenham with many CBH managed properties. He is local to Cheltenham and has worked in IT, finance and engineering. His engineering background includes a specialism in technical writing which encompasses a ready skill for questioning, collating, and acquiring knowledge quickly. Richard is one of the Council’s appointed Board members helping to continue the strong relationship between Cheltenham Borough Council and CBH.

In December 2016 I was delighted to join the Cheltenham Borough Homes’ Board and Audit & Risk Committee. Prior to joining CBH I gained experience of social housing through membership of the Audit Committee of another local housing association. Additionally, I am enthusiastic about my involvement with a local charity which provides opportunities for disabled people.

Living and working in the Cheltenham area for over 25 years, my career has been in general insurance where I have held senior management positions with a number of major insurers. I am a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and hold the Diploma in Marketing. I have wide-ranging commercial experience with specific expertise in underwriting, governance, audit and compliance. The majority of my professional life has been in Head Office roles bringing general strategic management experience to the Board.

I recently retired after 38 years in local government. I was a town planner by profession but have had responsibility for a wide range of district council services in roles within 5 different local authorities. I have lived in Cirencester with my husband for the last 6 years after spending the previous 20 years living in East Anglia and the North-East of Scotland.I am motivated by making a positive difference in peoples’ lives and I am delighted to be on the Board of CBH.

I am originally from South London, but I have been living in Cheltenham for the past 17 years. I have worked in the health and social care field all of my working life. I believe that everyone should have equal access to health and social care provision. Working with the community and inspiring people to believe that they can make a positive contribution, no matter how big or small is something that I passionately believe in. I am hoping that my time on the Board will support CBH colleagues and customers to engage at all levels, we can work together to bring about changes that benefit us all.

I have a long record in business, local government and the voluntary sector, all of which have led to me taking a close interest in the field of housing.

I was born and brought up in North Yorkshire and came to Cheltenham 46 years ago after university to work for a marketing company. For more than 20 years I ran my own marketing business in Cheltenham.

I served as a Borough Councillor for 19 years and as a County Councillor for 20 years. As a councillor, I represented 2 wards with a high concentration of social housing (St Paul’s and St Peter’s) and became familiar with many of the issues facing tenants, leaseholders and people in housing need, whilst gaining a strong knowledge of housing finance.I served as a governor of several Cheltenham schools and currently chair the Cheltenham Housing and Support Forum, which brings together representatives of statutory and voluntary organisations working to help people with housing problems and related issues.

On the CBH board, I serve on the Audit and Risk Committee and the New Supply Committee. I see the work of CBH as being not just about bricks and mortar, important though this is, and more about improving the lives and life chances of our tenants and leaseholders in a broader sense, including helping people in housing need by delivering new social housing.

I am originally from the Cheltenham area and returned a few years ago following spells living and working in a few different places including in mainland Europe, Asia and Africa. I am an IT consultant and help clients with digital transformation programmes.I look forward to working with the CBH team and adding value to the work they do to support communities across Cheltenham.
